NFL Week 11, Lions Playing Recess Football?
This past NFL week was filled with crazy games. Let's talk about the Aaron Rodgers New York Jets versus the Anthony Richardson Colts. Of course, the Jets went into this game as the favorites because who could go against Arron Rodgers? The Jets go into the game with a record of (3-7) they haven't been having the best season and in all reality, the QB rating has gone down compared to the last three seasons before Aaron Rodgers came to New York. The Colts were (4-6) after having some QB controversy because of Anthony Richardson tapping himself out late in a game where they needed their starting QB. The Jets didn’t have a bad game offensively with Rodgers going 22-29, 184 Yds, and 2 TDS. Breece Hall ran for 78 YDs and a touchdown. The Defense couldn’t stop the Colts very late into the fourth quarter. Anthony Richardson threw for 272 YDs and one touchdown. Anthony Richardson scored his 2nd rushing touchdown on the day after his game-winning touchdown but the Colt went for two and failed. On the last play of the game with zero timeouts left Arron Rodgers got sacked by Kwity Paye. Is the NFC North the toughest Conference? The Packers beat the Chicago Bears when the Bears lined up for the game-winning field goal and the Packers blocked it to win 20-19 which improved them to (7-3) on the season and dropped the Bears to (4-6). The Lions obliterated the Jaguars 52-6 and the Lions are now (9-1). Jared Goff threw for 412 YDs and 4TDs completing 24 of 29 passes. We got to see Hendon Hooker play and complete ¾ passes for 37 yards. Amon-Ra St. Brown popped off with 11 catches for 161 yards. Jameson Williams also had a perfect game with 4 catches for 124 yards. The Lions this year have looked like a real Super Bowl contender going into the second half of the year because they look like they are playing recess football. How Many of these were upsets? The Steelers pull a surprising win against the Ravens 18-16, barely holding on. The Denver Broncos trampled the Atlanta Falcons 38-6. The Broncos stopped the Falcons' run game with Bijian Robinson getting 12 carries for 35 yards. Kirk Cousins threw for just 173 yards and 1 INT. Michael Penix Jr. came out and threw for 24 yards completing 2 of 4 passes. Bo Nix had a career game with 307 yards and 4 touchdowns. Showing everyone what his potential can be. The Buffalo Bills Stomped over the Undefeated Chiefs 30-21 getting the Chiefs their first loss of the season. Mahomes did not have a very Mahomie game throwing for 196 yards, 3 TDs, and 2 INTs. Josh Allen threw for 262 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 INT. Allen was also his team's biggest rusher with 55 yards on the ground. Von Miller and Terrel Bernard had the only sacks for the Bills. The Late Sunday night game versus the Bengals and the Chargers was going to be good. The Bengals who dominated on offense created a great comeback in the second half only scoring 6 in the first half and 21 points in the second to tie the game late into the fourth. The Chargers held them to a three and out causing them to punt. J.K Dobbins with a few seconds on the clock could’ve hit the ground called a timeout and hit the field goal but he decided to go ahead and score the touchdown and that would ultimately be the game-winning touchdown. The Chargers won the game 34-27 which improved their record to (7-3) and dropped the Bengals to a disappointing (4-7) Record.

Lions- Browns
The best trade this year was Za-Darius Smith from the Browns to the Lions. The Lions needed to replace the edge player Aidan Hutchinson after he broke his fibula and tibia in the 47-9 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 13, 2024. The Browns will acquire a 2025 fifth-rounder and a 2026 sixth-rounder and the Detroit Lions will receive Za-Darius Smith and a 2026 seventh-rounder. Smith has recorded five sacks this year and has 65 over his 10-year career so far. This trade would be rated an A for the Lions. Ravens- Panthers The Ravens and the Panthers completed a trade on Oct.29, 2024, sending Dionate Johnson and a 2025 sixth-rounder to the Ravens. The Panthers received a 2025 fifth-round selection. Donate Johnson played for the Steelers for five years, only having one 1,000-yard receiving year in 2021. Johnson played only seven games for the Panthers in the one year he was there, in 2024, only having 30 receptions, 357 yards, and three touchdowns. Chiefs- Titans The big headline story was from Oct.24, when the Tennessee Titans sent their star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2025 fifth-round pick. While with Tennessee for two seasons, he recorded over 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns. He has 12,643 yards and 81 career touchdowns. The Chiefs get an A rating for this trade, and the Titans get a B because, for a star player, they could’ve budged for more value. Commanders- Saints The trade between the New Orleans Saints and the Washington Commanders might be one of the best trades this season. Washington received the 28-year-old Marshon Lattimore on Nov.5 and a 2025 fifth-round pick while the Saints got a 2025 third, 2025 fourth, and 2025 sixth-round pick in this year's draft. Lattimore has 15 ints in his career so far and 405 tackles so far. Cowboys- Panthers The Dallas Cowboys completed a trade for Jonathan Mingo on Nov.5 after they lost to the Atlanta Falcons. The Cowboys receive Jonathan Mingo and a 2025 seventh-round draft and the Panthers get a 2025 fourth-round pick. Jonathan Mingo has only been in the league for two years recording 111 catches and 539 yards and zero touchdowns with his longest catch going for 40 yards. The Cowboys just lost CeeDee Lamb to a shoulder injury during the Falcons game. Their wide receiver room hasn’t been the greatest so far this year. CeeDee Lambs has had 660 yards through 8 games this season and the next highest receiver is Jalen Tolbert who has 30 receptions and 353 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Cowboys get a C- on this trade because Jonathan Mingo hasn’t been productive enough for this to be proven and the Panthers get a B because they got more than his value. As the MLS Cup Playoffs move to the next round there are still a few games to be wrapped up in the round of 16 Eastern Conference. Here are my predictions.

Atlanta United will play away at Miami on Saturday the 9th of 2024. The series is tied up at 1-1 heading into the 3rd. Atlanta had lost the first game when they played in Miami 2-1. An early goal was scored in the second minute by the Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez bagging his 21st goal this season with an assist from Diego Gomez. Jordi Alba had the second goal in the game with an assist from Lionel Messi in the 60th minute. Saba Lobzhanidze had the lone goal for Atlanta United in the 39th minute with an assist from Pedro Amador. ATL’s Dangerous Players Pedro Amador has been in form recently. In the last 4 games, he has had 4 assists with only starting 9 games this season after joining the team on July 1 and signing a two-year contract. In games one and two Brad Guzan played a part in the final scores. In game one he was the hero of Atlanta United with 9 saves. In game two, however, he had an error that led to Miami’s lone goal by Hector Martinez after Brad Guzan dropped the ball in front of a Miami player. As Atlanta gets ready to travel down to face the heavy favorites to win the MLS cup they will have to be ready to put up a fight. Ingredients to Cook Inter Miami Atlanta will not have Brooks Lennon to help both the defensive and offensive side of their football. He had shoulder surgery and will most likely miss somewhere between four to six months. The 27 year old Ronald Hernandez will be the replacement for Brooks Lennon heading into the third game looking to contribute just as much as he did in the last. Completed 50 out of 53 passes in the second game and will be looking to clamp down Jordi Alba as he attacks. The tools to the match for Atlanta united will be to be prepared to be under pressure for the first 10-15 minutes of the game before Miami starts to calm down. Playing from the wings and getting your fullbacks forward to put in crosses could ultimately be the deciding factor in whether or not they pull the upset of the playoffs. With Pedro amador wheeling and dealing crosses like he has been doing that will be the main thing to continue. Atlantas set pieces have to be something that Miami should be afraid of. And on the defensive side of the ball you have to be prepared for the one twos on the wing as well as being ready to take on the corners. Alba will be a dangerous man as his crosses and the way he moves up the field can and will always be difficult to watch. Clearing the ball out of the boxes will be key 83% of Inter Miami’s goals have come from inside the box. (68-82) |
